对象 — duìxiàng

1. target; object (of attention, research, attack, etc.)

   这个活动的主要对象是中学生。 zhège huódòng de zhǔyào duìxiàng shì zhōngxuéshēng — The main target of this activity is middle school students.

2. partner; counterpart; the person one is paired with (can be business/functional)

   双方指定了一个对等的合作对象。 shuāngfāng zhǐdìng le yígè duì děng de hézuò duìxiàng — The two sides designated an equal cooperation partner.

3. boyfriend or girlfriend; romantic partner

   她最近交了一个新对象。 tā zuìjìn jiāo le yígè xīn duìxiàng — She recently started seeing a new boyfriend/girlfriend.
