1. season (one of the four periods of the year)

   一年有四个季节：春、夏、秋、冬。 yīnián yǒu sìgè jìjié chūn xià qiū dōng — There are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn, winter.

2. the last month of a season; season's end

   季末的气候常常变化无常。 jìmò de qìhòu chángcháng biànhuàwúcháng — The weather at the end of a season often changes unpredictably.

3. the fourth (or youngest) brother (classical/literary use)

   他家有四个兄弟，他排行为季。 tājiā yǒu sìgè xiōngdì tā pái hángwèi jì — He has four brothers in his family, and he ranks as the youngest (ji).

   今年一季小麦的产量很好。 jīnnián yījì xiǎomài de chǎnliàng hěn hǎo — This year the yield of wheat for one season was very good.
