嫁 — jià

1. to marry (used of a woman)

   她去年嫁给了一个医生。 tā qùnián jiàgěi le yígè yīshēng — She married a doctor last year.

2. to marry off (a daughter)

   她的父母把她嫁给了邻村的农民。 tā de fùmǔ bǎ tā jiàgěi le líncūn de nóngmín — Her parents married her off to a farmer from the neighboring village.

3. to shift (blame, fault) onto someone else (as in 嫁祸)

   他想把责任嫁到别人头上。 tā xiǎng bǎ zérèn jiàdào biérén tóushàng — He wants to shift the blame onto someone else.
