大家 — dàjiā

1. everyone; everybody

   大家都来了。 dàjiā dōu lái le — Everyone has arrived.

2. an influential or prominent family (often historically or socially important)

   他出身于书香大家，从小受到良好教育。 tā chūshēn yú shūxiāng dàjiā cóngxiǎo shòudào liánghǎo jiàoyù — He comes from a distinguished scholarly family and received a good education from a young age.

3. a great master or expert in a field; a respected authority

   他是画坛的大家，作品价值很高。 tā shì huàtán de dàjiā zuòpǐn jiàzhí hěn gāo — He is a master in the art world; his works are very valuable.
