1. in general; basically; on the whole

   大体来说，他的工作做得很好。 dàtǐ láishuō tā de gōngzuò zuò dé hěn hǎo — Generally speaking, his work is done very well.

2. more or less; roughly; in rough terms (approximation)

   时间大体确定在下周二。 shíjiān dàtǐ quèdìng zài xià zhōuèr — The time is roughly set for next Tuesday.

3. overall situation; the big picture

   从大体上看，项目是可行的。 cóng dàtǐshàng kàn xiàngmù shì kěxíng de — Looking at the big picture, the project is feasible.

4. cadaver used for dissection in medical training

   解剖课上我们要观察大体的结构。 jiěpōu kè shàng wǒmen yào guānchá dàtǐ de jiégòu — In anatomy class we will observe the structure of the cadaver.
