1. to bury; to engulf (physically cover with earth, debris, etc.)

   在山体滑坡中，几户人家被泥石流埋没了。 zài shāntǐ huápō zhōng jǐhù rénjiā bèi níshíliú máimò le — During the landslide, several households were buried by the debris flow.

2. to stifle; to overlook or neglect (someone's talent, work, etc.)

   这么有才华的人被埋没在角落里，真是可惜。 zhème yǒu cáihuá de rén bèi máimò zài jiǎoluòlǐ zhēnshì kěxī — It's such a pity that such a talented person is being overlooked in obscurity.

3. to fall into oblivion; to be forgotten or obscured over time

   许多早期的作品随着年代流逝逐渐被埋没。 xǔduō zǎoqī de zuòpǐn suízhe niándài liúshì zhújiàn bèi máimò — Many early works have gradually fallen into oblivion as years passed.
