坏 — huài

1. bad; of poor quality; morally bad

   这个决定很坏。 zhège juédìng hěn huài — This decision is very bad.

2. spoiled (food); rotten

   牛奶坏了，别喝了。 niúnǎi huài le biéhēle — The milk has gone bad; don't drink it.

3. broken; not functioning (object)

   我的手机坏了，需要修理。 wǒ de shǒujī huài le xūyào xiūlǐ — My phone is broken and needs repair.

4. to break down; to go bad (mechanical failure)

   汽车在路上坏了，我们叫拖车。 qìchē zài lùshàng huài le wǒmen jiào tuōchē — The car broke down on the road; we called a tow truck.

5. (suffix) to the utmost; extremely (used after adjectives/verbs)

   他高兴坏了。 tā gāoxìng huài le — He was extremely happy (lit. happy-bad).
