1. scene; setting (of a story, film, play); the visual/layout aspect of an event

   这个场面的布景很逼真。 zhège chǎngmiàn de bùjǐng hěn bīzhēn — The set for this scene is very realistic.

2. spectacle; a grand or showy display (often to impress others)

   他们在婚礼上摆了很大的场面。 tāmen zài hūnlǐ shàng bǎi le hěndà de chǎngmiàn — They put on a big show at the wedding.

3. situation; state of affairs (often describing social atmosphere, e.g., awkward or tense situation)

   这场面有点尴尬，大家都不知说什么好。 zhè chǎngmiàn yǒudiǎn gāngà dàjiā dōu bùzhī shuō shénme hǎo — This situation is a bit awkward; nobody knows what to say.
