喇叭 — lǎba

1. horn (automobile); car horn; to honk

   前面的车一直按喇叭，很吵。 qiánmiàn de chē yìzhí àn lǎbā hěn chǎo — The car in front kept honking its horn; it's very noisy.

2. loudspeaker; public-address speaker

   村口的喇叭每天早上播放通知。 cūnkǒu de lǎbā měitiān zǎoshàng bōfàng tōngzhī — The loudspeaker at the village entrance plays announcements every morning.

3. brass wind instrument; trumpet (general)

   乐队里有几位喇叭手负责旋律部分。 yuèduì lǐ yǒu jǐwèi lǎbāshǒu fùzé xuánlǜ bùfèn — There are several trumpet players in the band responsible for the melody.

4. suona (a Chinese double-reed horn)

   婚礼上常常可以听到喇叭和锣鼓的合奏。 hūnlǐ shàng chángcháng kěyǐ tīngdào lǎbā hé luógǔ de hézòu — At weddings you can often hear ensembles of suona and gongs/drums.
