呢 — ne

1. particle used to apply a previously asked question to the preceding word ("What about ...?", "And ...?")

   我已经吃过了，你呢？ wǒ yǐjīng chī guò le nǐ ne — I've already eaten; what about you?

2. particle for asking about location ("Where is ...?")

   刚才放在桌上的书呢？ gāngcái fàngzài zhuōshàng de shū ne — Where is the book that was just on the table?

3. particle signaling a pause or emphasis, inviting listener to absorb what was said ("ok?", "are you with me?")

   明天我们一起去，可以吗，呢？ míngtiān wǒmen yìqǐ qù kěyǐ ma ne — We'll go together tomorrow, ok?

4. (at sentence end) particle indicating continuation of a state or action

   他还在呢。 tā hái zài ne — He's still here.

5. particle indicating strong affirmation or insistence

   我就是要这样呢！ wǒ jiùshì yào zhèyàng ne — That's exactly how I want it!

1. dense woolen fabric (used for coats and jackets)

   冬天的大衣多用毛呢做。 dōngtiān de dàyī duōyòng máoní zuò — Winter coats are mostly made of woolen fabric.
