吵 — chǎo

1. to quarrel; to have an argument

   他们又在吵（架）了。 tāmen yòu zài chǎo jià le — They're quarrelling again.

2. to make a noise; to disturb (by noise)

   请不要在图书馆里吵。 qǐng búyào zài túshūguǎn lǐ chǎo — Please don't make noise in the library.

3. noisy; loud

   这家咖啡馆太吵，不能好好谈话。 zhèjiā kāfēiguǎn tài chǎo bùnéng hǎohǎo tánhuà — This café is too noisy; we can't talk properly.
