   演出结束后，演员回到后台。 yǎnchū jiéshù hòu yǎnyuán huídào hòutái — After the show, the actors went back to the backstage area.

2. behind-the-scenes supporter; powerful backer or patron

   他在公司里有很强的后台，所以升职很快。 tā zài gōngsī lǐ yǒu hěn qiáng de hòutái suǒyǐ shēng zhí hěnkuài — He has strong backers in the company, so he was promoted quickly.

3. (computing) back-end; server-side system or background processes

   这个应用的后台运行在云服务器上。 zhège yìngyòng de hòutái yùnxíng zài yún fúwùqì shàng — The app's back-end runs on cloud servers.
