2. honorary; (of a title) given as an honor rather than for duties — e.g., honorary professor/emeritus

   他退休后被授予名誉教授称号。 tā tuìxiū hòu bèi shòuyǔ míngyùjiàoshòu chēnghào — After retirement he was awarded the title of honorary professor.
