2. the right (political) — right of center

   他属于政坛的右派。 tā shǔyú zhèngtán de yòupài — He belongs to the right wing of politics.

3. (archaic) the west

   古人以右为西，故称山西为山右。 gǔrén yǐ yòu wèi xī gù chēng shānxī wèi shān yòu — The ancients treated 'right' as 'west', so Shanxi was called Shanyou. (archaic)

4. (literary) the right side as the side of precedence or honor

   在古代，座位的右侧为尊位。 zài gǔdài zuòwèi de yòucè wèi zūnwèi — In ancient times, the right side of a seat was the place of honor.
