只是 — zhǐshì

1. merely; only; just; nothing but; simply

   他只是个孩子，不懂那么多。 tā zhǐshì gè háizi bù dǒng nàme duō — He's just a child and doesn't understand that much.

2. but; however (used to introduce a contrast or objection)

   我想去，只是太忙了。 wǒ xiǎngqù zhǐshì tài máng le — I want to go, but I'm too busy.
