取 — qǔ

1. to take; to grab (physically take hold of something)

   他从桌子上取了一本书。 tā cóng zhuōzi shàng qǔ le yī běnshū — He took a book from the table.

2. to get; to obtain (acquire something, e.g., documents, money)

   他去银行取了工资。 tā qù yínháng qǔ le gōngzī — He went to the bank to get his salary.

3. to choose; to select (pick from options)

   请你从这几件里取一件试穿。 qǐng nǐ cóng zhè jǐjiàn lǐ qǔ yījiàn shìchuān — Please choose one of these to try on.

4. to fetch; to go and bring back (go somewhere to retrieve something)

   他去超市取了点儿东西回来。 tā qù chāoshì qǔ le diǎnér dōngxī huílái — He went to the supermarket to fetch a few things and came back.
