发烧 — fāshāo

1. to have a high temperature; to have a fever (illness)

   他昨天晚上发烧，今天还在床上休息。 tā zuótiānwǎnshàng fāshāo jīntiān hái zài chuángshàng xiūxī — He had a fever last night and is still resting in bed today.

2. (fig.) to be fascinated with; to obsess over; to be crazy about (something)

   他对古典音乐一发烧就停不下来。 tā duì gǔdiǎnyīnyuè yī fāshāo jiù tíngbùxiàlái — Once he gets obsessed with classical music, he can't stop.

3. (fig.) flourishing; thriving; very popular

   近来奶茶市场很发烧，到处都是新店。 jìnlái nǎichá shìchǎng hěn fāshāo dàochù dōu shì xīndiàn — The bubble tea market has been booming lately, with new shops everywhere.
