区间 — qūjiān

1. a delimited area; a specified zone

   这个施工区的安全区间已经用警戒线隔开。 zhège shīgōng qū de ānquán qūjiān yǐjīng yòng jǐngjièxiàn gékāi — The safety zone of this construction area has already been cordoned off with warning tape.

2. a defined section of a train or bus route (a segment/station-to-station stretch)

   列车在下一区间将减速，请抓稳扶手。 lièchē zài xià yī qūjiān jiāng jiǎnsù qǐng zhuā wěn fúshǒu — The train will slow down in the next section; please hold the handrail firmly.

3. a numerical range (e.g., interval between two values)

   请在表格的年龄区间一栏填写适当的年龄范围。 qǐng zài biǎogé de niánlíng qūjiān yīlán tiánxiě shìdàng de niánlíng fànwéi — Please fill in the appropriate age range in the age-interval column of the form.

4. (mathematics) an interval (a set of real numbers between two endpoints)

   闭区间[0,1]表示从0到1之间包括端点的所有实数。 bì qūjiān 0 1 biǎoshì cóng 0 dào 1 zhījiān bāokuò duāndiǎn de suǒyǒu shíshù — The closed interval [0,1] denotes all real numbers from 0 to 1 inclusive of the endpoints.
