1. to join (an organization, group); to become a member

   我决定加入了学校的摄影社。 wǒ juédìng jiārù le xuéxiào de shèyǐngshè — I decided to join the school's photography club.

2. to mix into; to add (an ingredient) into something

   把糖加入面糊里，搅拌均匀。 bǎ táng jiārù miànhù lǐ jiǎobàn jūnyún — Add the sugar to the batter and stir evenly.

3. to participate in; to take part in (an activity, event)

   他想加入讨论会，但时间不合适。 tā xiǎng jiārù tǎolùnhuì dàn shíjiān bùhé shì — He wants to take part in the discussion group, but the time doesn't fit.
