   我劝告他不要轻易放弃。 wǒ quàngào tā búyào qīngyì fàngqì — I advised him not to give up easily.

2. advice; exhortation; admonition

   他听从了我的劝告，改变了计划。 tā tīngcóng le wǒ de quàngào gǎibiàn le jìhuà — He followed my advice and changed his plan.
