1. around; approximately (used with numbers or times)

   这次出差前后大约一个星期。 zhècì chūchāi qiánhòu dàyuē yígè xīngqī — This business trip lasted around one week.

2. from beginning to end; throughout; all along

   他前后反复检查了好几遍。 tā qiánhòu fǎnfù jiǎnchá le hǎojǐbiàn — He checked it over and over from beginning to end.

3. front and rear; before and after (spatial or temporal contrast)

   房子前后都有花园。 fángzi qiánhòu dōu yǒu huāyuán — There are gardens both in front of and behind the house.
