券 — quàn

1. bond; (paper) debt instrument (often a document split in two, each party holding a half)

   公司发行了大量债券和各类券以筹集资金。 gōngsī fāxíng le dàliàng zhàiquàn hé gèlèi quàn yǐ chóujízījīn — The company issued a large number of bonds and various certificates to raise funds.

2. contract

   双方在签字处各留一张券作为合同凭证。 shuāngfāng zài qiānzì chù gè liú yīzhāng quàn zuòwéi hétóng píngzhèng — Each party keeps one half of the document as a contract voucher.

3. deed; title deed (ownership document)

   买房后要把土地和房屋的券交到不动产登记处办理过户。 mǎifáng hòu yào bǎ tǔdì hé fángwū de quàn jiāodào bùdòngchǎn dēngjìchù bànlǐ guòhù — After buying the house, the land and house deeds must be submitted to the real estate registry for transfer.

4. ticket (entrance, travel, etc.)

   去电影院别忘了把电影券带上。 qù diànyǐngyuàn biéwàngle bǎ diànyǐng quàn dàishàng — Don't forget to bring your movie ticket when you go to the cinema.

5. voucher; coupon (discount voucher, gift certificate)

   这个商场发放购物券，可以在结账时抵用。 zhège shāngchǎng fāfàng gòuwùquàn kěyǐ zài jiézhàng shí dǐ yòng — This mall issues shopping vouchers that can be used at checkout.

6. certificate; credential

   培训结束后会发放结业券或证书作为证明。 péixùn jiéshù hòuhuì fāfàng jiéyè quàn huò zhèngshū zuòwéi zhèngmíng — After the training, completion vouchers or certificates will be issued as proof.
