出场 — chūchǎng

1. to come onto the stage to perform (of a performer)

   主持人宣布完后，歌手出场开始表演。 zhǔchírén xuānbù wán hòu gēshǒu chūchǎng kāishǐ biǎoyǎn — After the host finished the announcement, the singer came on stage to begin the performance.

2. to enter the arena to compete (of an athlete)

   比赛开始前五分钟，替补球员准备出场。 bǐsài kāishǐ qián wǔfēnzhōng tìbǔ qiúyuán zhǔnbèi chūchǎng — Five minutes before the game started, the substitute player prepared to enter the match.

3. to enter the scene; to appear on the market or public stage (fig.)

   这款新手机一出场就引起了大量关注。 zhèkuǎn xīnshǒujī yīchūchǎng jiù yǐnqǐ le dàliàng guānzhù — This new phone attracted a lot of attention as soon as it appeared on the market.

4. to leave the venue (of an examinee, performer, etc.)

   考试结束后，监考提醒考生不要随意出场以免扰乱秩序。 kǎoshì jiéshù hòu jiānkǎo tíxǐng kǎoshēng búyào suíyì chūchǎng yǐmiǎn rǎoluàn zhìxù — After the exam ended, the invigilator reminded candidates not to leave the venue casually to avoid disturbing the order.
