出台 — chūtái

1. to officially launch (a policy, program, etc.)

   政府宣布下个月将出台一项新政策。 zhèngfǔ xuānbù xiàgèyuè jiāng chūtái yīxiàng xīn zhèngcè — The government announced it will officially launch a new policy next month.

2. to appear on stage; to come out for a performance

   乐队九点钟开始演出，主唱会在九点半左右出台。 yuèduì jiǔdiǎnzhōng kāishǐ yǎnchū zhǔchàng huì zài jiǔdiǎnbàn zuǒyòu chūtái — The band starts at nine; the lead singer will come on stage around 9:30.

3. to appear publicly; to make a public appearance

   这位演员自丑闻后很少出台见人。 zhèwèi yǎnyuán zì chǒuwén hòu hěnshǎo chūtái jiàn rén — The actor has rarely made public appearances since the scandal.

4. (slang) (of a bar girl) to leave with a client

   那个服务生晚上经常被顾客邀请出台。 nàge fúwùshēng wǎnshàng jīngcháng bèi gùkè yāoqǐng chūtái — That bar girl is often invited to leave with customers at night.
