几 — jī

1. small low table; side table (archaic/colloquial)

   客厅里摆着一张小茶几。 kètīng lǐ bǎi zhe yīzhāng xiǎo chájī — There is a small tea table in the living room.

2. almost; nearly (colloquial, contraction of 几乎)

   这件事几乎难倒了他。 zhèjiàn shì jīhū nándǎo le tā — This matter almost stumped him.
