   请你负责准备明天的材料。 qǐng nǐ fùzé zhǔnbèi míngtiān de cáiliào — Please be responsible for preparing tomorrow's materials.

3. to intend; to plan; to be about to (doing something)

   我准备明年出国留学。 wǒ zhǔnbèi míngnián chūguó liúxué — I intend to study abroad next year.

4. to reserve (funds); to set aside
