冤枉 — yuānwang

1. to accuse or treat (someone) unjustly; to wrong (someone)

   他被老板冤枉偷了钱，实际上他没做。 tā bèi lǎobǎn yuānwǎng tōu le qián shíjìshàng tā méi zuò — He was wrongly accused by the boss of stealing money; in fact he didn't do it.

2. feeling wronged; to have been treated unfairly; wronged

   她一脸冤枉的样子，觉得大家都误会了她。 tā yīliǎn yuānwǎng de yàngzi juéde dàjiā dōu wùhuì le tā — She looked wronged, feeling that everyone had misunderstood her.

3. not worthwhile; undeserved; needless (often used colloquially: 'it's a pity/what a waste')

   这点小礼物给他太冤枉了，没必要这么客气。 zhèdiǎn xiǎo lǐwù gěi tā tài yuānwǎng le méi bìyào zhème kèqì — This small gift is too much for him — it's unnecessary to be so polite.
