共鸣 — gòngmíng

1. to resonate (physics); to undergo resonance

   当频率匹配时，系统会发生共鸣。 dāng pínlǜ pǐpèi shí xìtǒng huì fāshēng gòngmíng — When the frequencies match, the system will resonate.

2. resonance; sympathetic response (emotional or intellectual — feeling of shared understanding)

   他的经历引起了我的共鸣。 tā de jīnglì yǐnqǐ le wǒ de gòngmíng — His experience struck a chord with me.
