八卦 — bāguà

1. the eight divinatory trigrams from the I Ching (Book of Changes)

   八卦是《易经》中的基本符号，用来占卜和解释自然现象。 bāguà shì yìjīng zhōng de jīběn fúhào yònglái zhānbǔ hé jiěshì zìránxiànxiàng — The bagua are the fundamental symbols in the I Ching, used for divination and interpreting natural phenomena.

2. gossip; idle talk about other people's private affairs

   别信那个八卦，很多都是夸大或捏造的。 bié xìn nàge bāguà hěnduō dōu shì kuādà huò niēzào de — Don't believe that gossip; much of it is exaggerated or fabricated.
