光 — guāng

1. light (illumination); brightness

   房间里没有光。 fángjiān lǐ méiyǒu guāng — There is no light in the room.

2. ray (of light) (CL: 道)

   一束光从窗户射进来。 yīshù guāng cóng chuānghù shèjìnlái — A ray of light shone in through the window.

3. bright; shining; glossy

   她的头发很光。 tā de tóufà hěn guāng — Her hair is very shiny.

4. only; merely; just

   我光吃了两口就饱了。 wǒ guāng chī le liǎngkǒu jiù bǎo le — I only ate two bites and was full.

5. used up; finished; depleted

   矿泉水光了，我们得再买。 kuàngquánshuǐ guāng le wǒmen dé zài mǎi — The bottled water is all gone; we need to buy more.

6. to leave (a part of the body) uncovered; to expose

   他把胳膊光出来了，显得很随便。 tā bǎ gēbó guāng chūlái le xiǎnde hěn suíbiàn — He left his arms exposed, looking very casual.
