1. sufficient; adequate; full

   出发前我们要准备充足的水和干粮。 chūfā qián wǒmen yào zhǔnbèi chōngzú de shuǐ hé gānliáng — Before setting off we need to prepare an adequate supply of water and food.

2. to fill; to fill up

   把水壶充满水再出门。 bǎ shuǐhú chōngmǎn shuǐ zài chūmén — Fill the kettle with water before going out.

3. to serve as; to act as (a role)

   会议期间他充当了同声传译。 huìyì qījiān tā chōngdāng le tóngshēng chuányì — During the meeting he acted as the simultaneous interpreter.

4. to act falsely as; to pose as (to deceive)

   那个骗子冒充医生，充当专业人士骗取信任。 nàge piànzi màochōng yīshēng chōngdāng zhuānyèrénshì piànqǔxìnrèn — That fraud pretended to be a doctor, posing as a professional to gain trust.
