1. stagnation; a state of little or no growth or development

   经济长期停滞导致失业率上升。 jīngjì chángqī tíngzhì dǎozhì shīyèlǜ shàngshēng — Long-term economic stagnation has led to a rise in unemployment.

2. to stagnate; to be at a standstill or get bogged down

   项目因为资金问题停滞了几个月。 xiàngmù yīnwèi zījīn wèntí tíngzhì le jǐgè yuè — The project stagnated for several months because of funding problems.

3. at a standstill; inactive or not progressing

   公司处于停滞状态，暂无新业务展开。 gōngsī chǔyú tíngzhì zhuàngtài zànwú xīn yèwù zhǎnkāi — The company is at a standstill; there are no new operations underway.
