倒数 — dàoshǔ

1. to count backwards; to count down (e.g., from 10 to 0)

   大家一起倒数三、二、一，开始！ dàjiā yìqǐ dàoshǔ sān èr yī kāishǐ — Everyone count down together: three, two, one — go!

2. from the bottom; from the back (e.g., lines on a page, rows of seats)

   请从倒数第二排上台领取证书。 qǐng cóng dàoshǔ dìèrpái shàngtái lǐngqǔ zhèngshū — Please come to the stage from the second row from the back to collect your certificate.

倒数 — dàoshù

1. inverse number; reciprocal (mathematics)

   分数的倒数是将分子和分母互换得到的数。 fēnshù de dàoshǔ shì jiāng fēnzǐ hé fēnmǔ hùhuàn dédào de shù — The reciprocal of a fraction is the number obtained by swapping the numerator and denominator.
