修理 — xiūlǐ

1. to repair; to fix (something broken or malfunctioning)

   我的手机屏幕坏了，要去修理。 wǒ de shǒujī píngmù huài le yào qù xiūlǐ — My phone screen is broken; I need to get it fixed.

2. to prune; to trim (plants, trees, hedges)

   春天到了，该修理花园里的玫瑰了。 chūntiān dào le gāi xiūlǐ huāyuánlǐ de méiguī le — Spring has arrived; it's time to trim the roses in the garden.

3. (colloquial) to sort someone out; to punish or 'fix' someone (slang for beat up or deal with)

   别惹他，否则他会找人来修理你。 bié rě tā fǒuzé tā huì zhǎo rén lái xiūlǐ nǐ — Don't provoke him, or he'll get someone to sort you out.
