1. to supply; to provide

   公司负责供养员工的基本生活需要。 gōngsī fùzé gòngyǎng yuángōng de jīběn shēnghuó xūyào — The company is responsible for supplying employees' basic living needs.

2. to provide for one's elders; to support one's parents

   很多子女在外工作，仍然定期回家供养父母。 hěnduō zǐnǚ zàiwài gōngzuò réngrán dìngqī huíjiā gòngyǎngfùmǔ — Many children who work away still return regularly to support their parents.

1. to make offerings to (gods or ancestors)

   春节时，人们去庙里供养神明并祈求平安。 chūnjié shí rénmen qù miàolǐ gòngyǎng shénmíng bìng qíqiú píngān — At the Spring Festival, people go to temples to make offerings to the deities and pray for safety.
