1. dignity; prestige; face (social standing)

   他很在意别人的看法，要维护自己的体面。 tā hěn zàiyì biérén de kànfǎ yào wéihù zìjǐ de tǐmiàn — He cares about what others think and wants to preserve his dignity.

2. presentable; respectable; honorable (appearance or behavior)

   他穿得很体面，参加面试很合适。 tā chuān dé hěn tǐmiàn cānjiā miànshì hěn héshì — He is dressed very presentably; appropriate for the interview.
