   她低声对我说了几句悄悄话，生怕被旁边的人听见。 tā dīshēng duì wǒ shuō le jǐjù qiāoqiāohuà shēngpà bèi pángbiān de rén tīngjiàn — She whispered a few words to me softly, afraid of being overheard by the people nearby.

3. to lower; to let droop; to hang down; to incline (one's head or something)
