1. legendary; extraordinary (used to describe events or people as remarkable or hard to believe)

   那场比赛真是太传奇了。 nàchǎng bǐsài zhēnshìtài chuánqí le — That match was truly legendary.

2. a saga or romance; a long, often dramatic story (genre: fantasy/heroic tales)

   这部电视剧被称为一部现代传奇。 zhèbù diànshìjù bèi chēngwéi yībù xiàndài chuánqí — This TV series is called a modern saga.

3. short stories of the Tang and Song dynasties (specific literary form)

   研究中国古代传奇是我的专业方向。 yánjiū zhōngguó gǔdài chuánqí shì wǒ de zhuānyè fāngxiàng — Studying ancient Chinese chuánqí is my area of specialization.
