1. to rest; to take a break

   我们工作了三个小时，现在休息一下。 wǒmen gōngzuò le sāngè xiǎoshí xiànzài xiūxī yīxià — We worked for three hours; now let's rest for a bit.

2. a rest; a break (period of rest)

   他在中午有半小时的休息。 tā zài zhōngwǔ yǒu bànxiǎoshí de xiūxī — He has a half-hour rest at noon.
