人道 — réndào

1. human sympathy; humanitarianism

   我们要发扬人道精神，救助受灾群众。 wǒmen yào fāyáng réndàojīngshén jiùzhù shòuzāi qúnzhòng — We should carry forward humanitarian spirit and help the disaster victims.

2. humane; showing compassion or kindness

   这家医院的治疗方法很人道，尽量减轻病人的痛苦。 zhèjiā yīyuàn de zhìliáo fāngfǎ hěn réndào jǐnliàng jiǎnqīng bìngrén de tòngkǔ — The hospital's treatments are humane, trying to minimize the patient's suffering.

3. "the human way", a stage in the cycle of reincarnation (Buddhism)

   在佛教六道中，人道是众生修行的重要阶段。 zài fójiào liùdào zhōng réndào shì zhòngshēng xiūxíng de zhòngyào jiēduàn — In the Buddhist six realms, the human realm is an important stage of cultivation for sentient beings.

4. to have sexual intercourse (euphemistic/blunt)
