1. manpower; staff (people available to do work)

   公司因为人手不足，项目进度被迫延后。 gōngsī yīnwèi rénshǒubùzú xiàngmù jìndù bèipò yánhòu — Because the company is short on staff, the project schedule was forced to be delayed.

2. human hand; by hand (as opposed to machine)

   这些饰品必须用人手仔细打磨，机器做不出来同样的效果。 zhèxiē shìpǐn bìxū yòngrén shǒu zǐxì dǎmó jīqì zuò bùchū lái tóngyàng de xiàoguǒ — These ornaments must be carefully finished by hand; machines can't produce the same effect.
