亲 — qīn

1. parent; one's own (flesh and blood)

   她是我亲的女儿，跟我长得很像。 tā shì wǒ qīn de nǚér gēn wǒ zhǎng dé hěn xiàng — She is my own daughter and looks a lot like me.

2. relative; kin; related (by blood)

   他和我有亲，是远房表兄。 tā hé wǒ yǒu qīn shì yuǎnfáng biǎoxiōng — He is related to me; he's a distant cousin.

3. marriage; bride (archaic/compound use)

   两家定下亲事，准备来年成婚。 liǎngjiā dìngxià qīnshì zhǔnbèi láinián chénghūn — The two families settled on the marriage and prepared to wed the following year.

4. close; intimate

   这两个孩子从小关系就很亲。 zhè liǎnggè háizi cóngxiǎo guānxì jiù hěn qīn — These two children have been very close since they were little.

5. in person; first-hand

   这件事他要亲去办才放心。 zhèjiàn shì tā yào qīn qù bàn cái fàngxīn — He'll only feel at ease if he handles this matter in person.

6. in favor of; pro- (prefix-like usage)

   那位议员一向持亲美立场。 nàwèi yìyuán yíxiàng chí qīn měi lìchǎng — That legislator has always held a pro-American stance.

7. to kiss

   他走过去亲了她一下。 tā zǒu guòqù qīn le tā yīxià — He walked over and kissed her once.

8. (Internet slang) dear; a friendly form of address in messages

   亲，你的订单已经发货了。 qīn nǐ de dìngdān yǐjīng fāhuò le — Dear, your order has been shipped.

亲 — qìng

1. parents-in-law of one's offspring (i.e., the parents of your son/daughter’s spouse)

   两家结亲后关系一直很好。 liǎngjiā jiéqīn hòu guānxì yìzhí hěn hǎo — After the two families became in-laws, they have always gotten along well.
