交接 — jiāojiē

1. to come into contact; to meet (e.g., two objects or teams meeting at a point)

   两条道路在村口交接。 liǎngtiáodàolù zài cūnkǒu jiāojiē — The two roads meet at the village entrance.

2. to hand over; to transfer responsibility or control to someone else; to take over from someone

   交接班时要把未完成的工作向接班的人说明清楚。 jiāojiēbān shí yào bǎ wèi wánchéng de gōngzuò xiàng jiēbān de rén shuōmíng qīngchǔ — When handing over the shift you must clearly explain unfinished tasks to the person taking over.

3. to associate with; to have friendly relations with; to come into contact socially

   他不太跟外校的学生交接，比较内向。 tā bù tài gēn wàixiào de xuéshēng jiāojiē bǐjiào nèixiàng — He doesn't really mix with students from other schools; he's rather introverted.

4. (colloquial) to have sexual intercourse

   他们私下里交接了好几次。 tāmen sīxiàlǐ jiāojiē le hǎo jǐcì — They slept together several times in private.
