   他最近经常跟同学交往，所以汉语进步很快。 tā zuìjìn jīngcháng gēn tóngxué jiāowǎng suǒyǐ hànyǔ jìnbù hěnkuài — He has been hanging out with classmates a lot recently, so his Chinese has improved quickly.

2. (interpersonal) relationship; association; contact

   他们的交往已有多年，彼此很了解。 tāmen de jiāowǎng yǐyǒu duōnián bǐcǐ hěn liǎojiě — They have had a relationship for many years and know each other well.
