二手 — èrshǒu

1. second-hand; used (goods, equipment)

   他买了一台二手电脑，便宜又好用。 tā mǎi le yītái èrshǒudiànnǎo piányi yòu hǎo yòng — He bought a second-hand computer; it's cheap and works well.

2. second-hand (information); not firsthand — received via others

   这件事我只是听说的，都是二手消息，不太确定。 zhèjiàn shì wǒ zhǐshì tīngshuō de dōu shì èrshǒu xiāoxī bù tài quèdìng — I only heard about this; it's all second-hand news, not very certain.

3. assistant; a person acting as a helper or intermediary

   他在团队里给主管做二手，分担不少工作。 tā zài tuánduì lǐ gěi zhǔguǎn zuò èrshǒu fēndān bùshǎo gōngzuò — He acts as the manager's right-hand person on the team, sharing a lot of the work.
