   他们回到了乡下，过上了宁静的生活。 tāmen huídào le xiāngxià guòshàng le níngjìng de shēnghuó — They returned to the countryside and started a peaceful life.

2. native place; hometown; one's ancestral village or town

   他常常回乡看望父母。 tā chángcháng huíxiāng kànwàng fùmǔ — He often returns to his hometown to visit his parents.

3. township (PRC administrative unit)

   这个乡下辖五个村委会。 zhège xiāng xiàxiá wǔgè cūnwěihuì — This township administers five village committees.
