乖 — guāi

1. well-behaved; obedient (usually of a child)

   这个孩子很乖，自己把玩具收好了。 zhège háizi hěn guāi zìjǐ bǎ wánjù shōuhǎo le — This child is very well-behaved; he put his toys away by himself.

2. clever; shrewd; alert (quick-witted)

   他很乖，做事总能想出好办法。 tā hěn guāi zuòshì zǒngnéng xiǎngchū hǎo bànfǎ — He is clever and always comes up with good solutions.

3. perverse; contrary to reason; irregular; abnormal

   这份报告的结论实在有些乖，无法令人信服。 zhèfèn bàogào de jiélùn shízài yǒuxiē guāi wúfǎ lìngrénxìnfú — The report's conclusion is rather perverse/odd and cannot convince people.
