1. after; afterwards (temporal)

   会议之后我们再讨论这个问题。 huìyì zhīhòu wǒmen zài tǎolùn zhège wèntí — We'll discuss this issue after the meeting.

2. behind (spatial, following someone/something)

   他站在我之后。 tā zhàn zài wǒ zhīhòu — He is standing behind me.

3. since then; afterwards (used to link past event to later result)

   他开始学习中文，之后进步很快。 tā kāishǐ xuéxí zhōngwén zhīhòu jìnbù hěnkuài — He started studying Chinese, and since then his progress has been rapid.
