2. intermediate; acting between two stages or parties

   水是热量传递的中介物质。 shuǐ shì rèliàng chuándì de zhōngjiè wùzhì — Water is the intermediate substance that transfers heat.

   他在一家房地产中介工作。 tā zài yījiā fángdìchǎn zhōngjiè gōngzuò — He works at a real estate agency.
