两 — liǎng

1. two (the number 2); both (when used before a classifier)

   我有两个苹果。 wǒ yǒu liǎnggè píngguǒ — I have two apples.

2. both; some; a few (used before a classifier to indicate an unspecified small number)

   我们两个都同意。 wǒmen liǎnggè dōu tóngyì — The two of us both agree.

3. tael (traditional unit of weight; in modern usage ≈ 50 grams; historically 1/16 of a catty 斤[jīn])

   古代的一两银子价值很高。 gǔdài de yīliǎng yínzi jiàzhí hěn gāo — In ancient times, one tael of silver was very valuable.
